If your business uses a vending or hawking program there are three things you must configure before you can effectively track your sales and inventory. Those three things are:
Have a vendor created
- Have a vending location with a menu
Have items associated with that menu
On the vendors page you will see any vendors that have already been created and their commission rates. To create a vendor at the top of the list type the Name of the vendor and their Commission Rate. To save click the green Plus icon to the right of the commission field.
Once the vendor is created when the vending room manager logs into the register they will be able to choose a vendor from the list.
However before your vending room manager can log into the register they will need a Vending Room location.
Configuring a Vending Room Location
To be able to assign a purchase to a vendor we must verify that there is a vending room location that your vending room manager has access to.
When creating a location make sure that the Location Type is set to Vending Room.
When logging into the register that will be in the vending room just choose this location as its default location.

Creating Vending Items
A vending room will behave like all other registers but we will want items that represent how our hawkers and are vending room managers will exchange money and items.
See an example of how beer can be configured for a vending room location.
Here we have a single Can of Bud Light for $11.00, a case of 24 Bud Light for $264.00, and a Return one Can for -$11.00. When the hawker comes in to fill up their cart we might sell them one case to start with by Checking Out with a Tab No Card. However at the end of the night we might want to return an item to inventory so it would benefit us to have an item with a negative price. Take the time needed to set up your vending room how you want to.
