In Bypass, Modifiers allow you to customize items without having to change your menu items. Modifiers are tools you can use to customize your items right on the register. For example you can have a menu item called Pizza and use modifiers to add Pepperoni, Bell Peppers, and more. When creating these options we will first create a group to house the options and then we will create those options.
In the above example we have the Modifier Groups Burger Add ons and Drink Sizes.
The register will behave like the image above. In this example, the Hamburger has the Extra modifier group that has several modifiers in it.
Navigate to POS Manager > Modifiers.
All modifiers will be stored on this page. Here you can edit, delete, and create new modifiers. To start creating a modifier click the Create Modifier button in the top right. Keep in mind while creating these modifiers what group they will be in.
Fill out the following -
Name - How the modifier will appear on the register.
Price - If there is a price connected to this modifier. There does not have to be a price.
Category (optional) - Used to help organize your modifiers.
Inventory Tracking - If you are using in inventory tracking you can add a stock item to this modifier. More info in the BOH configuration guide.
Once you are finished creating the modifier click Save. Repeat this process as needed.
Now that we have some modifiers made let's add them to a Modifier Group (sometimes called an Addon Group).
Navigate to POS Manager > Modifier Group
To start creating a Modifier Group type out its information on the right side.
Name - Name of the modifier group.
Single Selection - Only one can be selected (Like drink size, you can't have a small and large drink).
Multi Selection - Multiple can be selected, this selection can be limited (Like burger options, you can add bacon and cheese).
Selection Required - You can force the selection of at least one modifier.
Once you've set your preferences for this group you can add the modifiers to it by clicking Modifiers.
