Items are the most basic building blocks of a menu. Items are stored in a menu and are organized by Menu Categories.
To create an item navigate to POS Manager > Items.
After clicking on Create Item you will see this screen.
Most items will be Food & Beverage, select the item type and click Next.
Enter the following information:
Name - Name that will appear on the register
Type - Four types
- Standard - standard item with a price.
- Weighted - price per ounce, also has a tare weight.
- Gift Card - creates a gift card item.
- Open Price - item that prompts for price on the register.
Default Price - the price that will be displayed on the register.
Category - The menu category that this item will be stored in. See Menu categories for more info.
Once all the details have been filled out click Save. Once you save an item you will be brought to the edit screen.
Here you can add additional details to the item. The most important fields are:
Reporting Group - You can create a reporting group to get reporting information on multiple items.
SKU - If your item has a SKU barcode you can enter it here.
Menus - Add this item to multiple menus by clicking on the Menus tab.
Addons - You can add modifier groups to this item by clicking on the Addons tab. (more on this in the modifier guide)
Inventory - Add and configure stock items by clicking on the inventory tab. (more on this in the inventory guide)
Once you are finished editing the item click the Update button. You Item is now created.
Repeat this process as needed to create as many items as you need.
